Fresh Charge Off Fico Score Plummets 40 points!

Recently I have been trying to clean up a few issues on my Equifax credit report. I have two BOFA accounts that have been reporting as 'Bad Debt - Charge Off' accounts that were included in the bankruptcy. I am under the impression that this is an inaccurate way to report those two trade lines.

I disputed them with Equifax asking them to fix the way they were reporting and they came back saying that the debt was verified. They then updated each of the two with a fresh 'Charge off' reports on 10/11. This caused my score to immediately plummet almost 40 points. It basically now looks like I just freshly charged off two accounts - accounts that originally went into default in early 2009 and were included in bankruptcy nearly two years later in late 2010.

Can they do that? What should I do now?

I would write a very detailed letter, along with discharge order (the one with the Matrix attached), and all the "identification" requirements for the credit reporting agency. Send it certified mail return receipt request (CMRR). Be very specific about what is wrong!

    Good luck!

Where can I get the discharge order matrix?

My discharge didn't come with anything but the two sheets of paper saying I'm discharged. If I include the creditor matrix from my filing packet would that suffice?

If you're in PACER, look for the copy of the Order that probably looks like this on the Docket... "BNC Certificate of Mailing - Order of Discharge". That one will have the discharge order (2 pages) plus the "Certificate of Notice" -- mailing matrix -- on which it was served.

          Thank you so much.

Does anybody have a sample letter that will work best for this? I've been reading through a bunch of them but none of them look like they fit this situation.
