Just wanted to thank the original poster of this thread. I was looking for a credit card with no annual fee and a decent limit so I wouldn't have to have two or three $500 cards. I was instantly approved for $1500. Thanks so much!

ZPbk13 did you get an offer in the mail or applied online without an offer. If you applied directly online without receiving an offer in the mail, what's the website link?
Do you know what credit report they pull... Experian, transunion or equifax. Thanks a lot.

reben - no I did not receive an offer in the mail and I worried I wouldn't be approved but it turned out to be okay. I went to this webiste and applied: http://store.apple.com/us/instant_credit. I do have a security block on my credit so I got a screen asking me to call them to verify some info. They asked me a few questions and then told me my credit limit. It was really painless. I hope this answers your question.

            I just got the L.L.Bean Visa at a 4,000 limit...was instant approval.

Just be really careful with Barclays... for the six months after you open the card they will monitor your credit activity. If you open any new accounts, or like what Logan experienced, they will either cut your limit or close your account. Some people get under the radar but the general rule of thumb is no credit applications/new accounts six months after a barclays card opening.

And for the other person that asked, they pull Trans Union.

Amy - thanks for the warning - I don't intend to open any further credit. I have the Barclay's and a Capital One and I am fine with those two. But your LL Bean sounds intriguing and even better than the Barclay's. In any event, I appreciate it.

No problem... I think you misunderstood my post though and forgive me for not being more clear... the L.L.Bean Visa is a Barclays card!

Thanks for your reply zpbk13. I'm gonna try it. Do you know what credit bureau they pulled your credit from... Experian, transunion or equifax. Thanks,

Just applied and got approved with a $2,190 limit. I don't need the card and don't plan on using it; I just wanted a higher limit card with no annual fee so I can dump one of my Cap1 accounts that has a low limit and annual fee.

                    Thanks!!

That's wonderful news! Congrats! I'm looking for an unsecured card to start rebuilding my credit. I'm discharge was only six months ago and I also took a new job the same exact day as my discharge. Is it too early to try for a Barclays card (or any other secured card)? I'm also worried about only being on the new job for six months...

Congrats Cupcake. Did you an offer in the mail or apply online without an offer. If so what website link.
                        Thanks.

I applied online without an offer. I did it through the Apple store's website as if I was considering a purchase and wanted credit preapproval. I selected my projected puchase amount to be between $1,500 - $2,000.

My first card post-BK was a Hooters card and I got that within a month or so of my discharge. It has since been closed by Hooters for inactivity. Shorty after that I applied for and received a Cap1 card with a $1,000 limit, which has since been been raised twice. Try a Barclays card; it seems to be somewhat easy to get if you are contemplating a purchase. Then again, I am over two years post-BK...

                            Good luck!

Well, I am glad all of you got approved. I got a pre-approval mail, responded and then they asked me for proof of citizenship. I mailed them a copy of my passport, and never heard anything again. Tried calling but automated system says they still don't have a status, and you can't talk to anyone. Online, still asking for proof of citizenship. Still waiting......
