We are looking to add a second card to our mix - DH received a letter with a confirmation code - I am wondering if he received this letter because we are members at REI, or if he is pre-qualified? I thought that US Bank wasn't too BK friendly and we don't want to waste the inquiry. We don't have any car loans so I think a second card will help with our rebuilding. Thanks!

Ny experience has always shown that the only guaranteed approvals will say just that. The "pre-selected", "pre-qualified", etc. are always just an invitation to APPLY....if it is a pre-APPROVAL, it will say so...usually with a limit already specified on the invitation. But, that doesnt mean if you try to apply you wont BE approved, its just not a guarantee.
