    Credit Card Offers

We're now over 18 months following discharge and we've ignored all credit card offers and living on cash hasn't been a problem with the new job. I was surprised that American Express granted a card sponsored by my company for business related expenses but it came through without a question. I am sure having this card does nothing for our credit standing though.

I am wondering if we decide to rebuild credit by "accepting" an offer for a credit card and should they decline does it hurt our credit rebuilding efforts?

If these are "offers to apply", then they are only slightly better than you just blindly applying as for chances of success. If they are "guaranteed acceptance", then of course those are better.

As for your credit, either way you will be charged an "inquiry" on your credit.....if you dont get the card its just a couple of points on your score. Of course if you are accepted then you have a positive trade line on your credit report which will definetely help the score, assuming you keep the balances low and pay on time!
