Wells Fargo sent me collection letter

Ok, So I got a collection letter from Wells fargo's Lawyers for $83,000 today. To top it off they tried calling me. Not a NOD or NOA (Already got those, Al-thought they yet to do anything.), An actual collection that states "This is an attempt to collect a debt." Up until now they have been sending statements saying We know your discharged, This is just for informational purposes.

To top it off It got delivered on a Friday at 6pm via registered mail. Arghh, So dang annoying.

So do I ignore it? Or should I do something?

Also can someone tell me how to update the footer to include my info?

I'm confused. You are discharged but they sent you a collection letter? Isn't this a violation?

Re: Updating footer: Go to top of page and click "Notifications" and under that click "Inbox". Scroll down. On the left hand side you should see "My Settings". Under "My Profile" click "Edit Signature."

Yup, It sure is, Just not sure how to handle it.

Whats worse is I have letters from wells acknowledging that they know I filed.

I haven't even talked to my lawyer since he called me to tell me about the discharge. I guess maybe I should give him a call and see if he would even care to chat with me.

Oh and thanks for helping me update my sig, I looked all over and for some reason couldn't find that the first time.

OHHHHH...sounds like someone needs a slap (well, Im usually not that feisty) LOL

I remember my atty telling me that if any creditor starts harassing me after discharge about payment just let him know and he would go after them for violation.

Well I sent them a letter stating that By trying to collect this debt they were in violation of my ch7 discharge. They sent me a letter back say, That it wasn't a letter trying to collect a debt just stating that they still had rights against the property.

The crazy thing is the letter specifically stated, they were trying to collect a debt of $83K, They were going to sue If I didn't pay up and oh yeah they were going to foreclose while they were at it.

So I sent it to them a letter saying that the house is currently vacant, Go ahead and feel free to foreclose. Although If it looks like its going to take them to long, Ill be renting the house out to make some money off it, So they are welcome to take there time.

I haven't paid taxes in 2 years on the house, and the mortgage company hasn't either. So who ever does take over is going to have nearly $3400 in back taxes to, In fact when I called the collector's office up they said that if someone doesn't pay the property taxes it will go up for auction in the next tax sale.

So, I guess, if they try anything else Ill be sending it on to my lawyer, Along with the letters from them acknowledging the discharge.

Here's a question though, If wells by some chance never pays the taxes on the house and it gets sold by the county for past due taxes, Does that ,mean they lose all rights to the house? Or can they go thru the whole redemption thing?
