Except that will put an inquiry on your report, and it could cost your buddy his/her job...

Don't waste your money, because you aren't getting your "real" score anyway. If you have a friend of buddy who can pull it somehow through an auto dealer, mortgage company, or the like, go about it that way!
Discharged Chapter 7 09/05
Post Bankruptcy Credit:
Target $200 (12/05)
Capital One $500 (12/05)
Hooters Mastercard $2000 (04/06)
I was discharged in June of 05.... only have a vehicle and house payment. I applied for Orchard bank right after the BK and got a 300.00 card with the 59 annual fee. Used it and paid ontime for 1 year now...called and requested a credit increase and was denied. I applied for the Hooters card and it came in the mail today with 0 annual fee and a 2000.00 limit! My scores are like 640 TU...608 EX...and 580 Eq. Still working on Eq. reporting right.
Now, what is best to build your score? Use the card a little and payoff every month ...or just throw it in a drawer?
I love paying with my hooters card. Esp when it's a young teenage boy. They get extremely embarassed. The kid at today at Wendy started hooting/whistling. Never saying anything, just making noises...lol!
I use it to pay for a lot of stuff just for the rewards. I just take the money out of my checkbook like I purchased it with cash and then when the bill comes I pay it off with the money I've already taken out.
I got a hooters card with $500 limit, no annual fee.
I don't have real FICO scores (Im too cheap). I do have my fake scores from truecredit:
TU: 659
EX: 640
EQ: 671

That doesent surprise me. I tried to refi my house about 2 months ago and the TC scores were about 50 points on average higher then the FICO scores. Maybe your FICO is higher?

Could be!
I have heard of this happening before!
If so, that means that all of my scores are now above 600... WOOHOO.
BUSY running my own credit repair services! Sorry I don't stop in so often any more!
I applied yesterday! I really hope I get approved, as I don't have any cards yet and I was discharged in Jan (well then March, because the court had to reopen my case to include my reaffirmation agreement.) But still, I want just one card for emergencies! I'm crossing my fingers...
