          Application on Hold

Applied for the Hooters MC as my second visa/mastercard type of line. Received a letter asking me to fax a copy of my social security card or paystub and recent utility bill or checking account statement to verify social and address. (Called them just to make sure I didn't put the wrong number in when I applied-i didn't). Will go ahead and fax this over hoping that I will get the line of credit. After this, I will not be applying for a while until my scores and history start rebuilding.

Also, has anyone figured out the rewards program???? Do you get 1 point for every dollar you spend and is the enrollment automoatic? Thanks everyone!!!
          Jeff.

I think you get more points for using the card at Hooters, and I believe enrollment is automatic. Will have a better idea when the first statement comes as it should show points if it is automatic, right?

I've officially used my card 1 time now! Not a HUGE purchase but I have heard some cards won't report unless you use them.

Is there anyone here who has gotten this card with a score under 600???
Please let me know asap. The lender that we are working with to buy a house said we needed a card asap because we have no positive trade lines!

I just did my 3 in 1 report on transunion and 2 of 3 accounts are just barely over 600. (All 3 have an inaccurate discharge that's bringing them way down.) Anyone have any idea which credit agency they verify with? Even though I'm in the pre-bk stage, I still need a cc for emergency and/or renting car.

                  They pull from TransUnion, Anon.

At least that's what I read at another Credit Board Forum.

                    Hooters

I reaplied for hooters after only two weeks. I had some things fixed on my CR and my score went up alot. This time I got the card. I am so glad to finally get a credit card so I can start rebuilding. I was approved for $1000
limit.. I only plan on using it for gas.

So, if I went and got a Hooters card now with lousy credit, and I filed BK a few months from now, then they'd probably cancel on me anyway, even if I make small purchases and PIF?

That is a good possibility. Besides that, applying for new cards on the eve of bankruptcy might not go over well with the bankruptcy court.

You are absolutely NOT permitted to apply for credit while in bankruptcy. This could have your case dismissed.

My biggest fear is not being able to buy my prescriptions--and Target's Red Card gives you target discounts after each 10 prescriptions (which I have 5 a month).

If using credit to buy everyday items (like prescriptions) is an issue, then filing bankruptcy is not going to fix your situation. It will give you a 'starting over' point, but will not increase your income after.

I don't want to preach, we've all learned to cut back! From personal experience, you have to reach a point where you no longer rely on credit in order to be able to move on with any chance of financial success.

I understand about cutting back. I'm just looking for a card for that emergency/backup situation.

I'm trying to figure out what I can cutback on to save for a lawyer to file my Ch 7. $210 in Rx a month sucks (and that's with insurance).
