I have a few things I am hoping someone here can shed some light on for me, as I have become terribly frustrated with this entire cleanup process.
I just received the results of a dispute from EQ. Here are the results:
1. Old auto loan, balance after a voluntary repo, IIB but was reporting a balance and payment amount. Result - balance, payments were changed to 0.
2. Collection account that is reporting correctly (IIB, 0 balance) on the other 2 CRA, but this one still shows a balance. Result - information verified as correct by creditor.
3. Current auto loan that we reaffirmed is not reporting our monthly payments, as a result the balance is showing at $6600 when in fact it is down to $1300, and the payment amount is showing higher than the actual payment. Result - information verified as correct by creditor.
So - #1 is good, #2 seems like a no-brainer - this is a violation, right? Do I now need to contact the creditor directly? Why would they report accurately to 2 agencies and then not only report wrong but verify it on the other? Seems strange.
#3 do I even need to worry about this? We will have it paid off in a few months so I could just wait and dispute it then if they don't update it.
Also, I am signed up for credit monitoring and it shows collection accounts as being new derogatories every month. Does this mean the CA's are reporting monthly when they shouldn't be? Or are they allowed to continue updating monthly until the 7 years is up? I understand the collections will be on my CR but why would it be new negative info every month?
