    Disputed my first item...

I don't know why I have been like an ostrich in the sand when it comes to these credit reports. But today I received an alert from MyFico, saying my transunion score dropped yet again. I finally said enough!! Pulled out the transunion reports that I had received a couple of weeks ago (and had thrown aside to be worked on another day) and found what I believe is the culprit: A cc that my ex is the primary of where I am the auth user. He is 60 days late as of March.

First I called C1 and removed myself. Then I called Transunion, explained I have not been with this person in over 2 years, and am now waiting. She said it will take 30 days while they "investigate".

How does this process work? Is there a chance I can be declined? I am really stressing about this. I want it off my report! Aaanndd, I need to dig further for more baddies, because I know this is not the only thing.

What you should have done is disputed it as "not mine", that generally works with authorized user cards. However, it may or may not come back "verified" because of the way you phoned it in. Typically it takes them about 30 days to process a dispute but TU is sometimes pretty quick. If they contact the card issuer and wait for them to get back to them it could take the full 30 days. If it does come back verified you can still fight it.

well that is kind of disconcerting to hear. But will being the auth user on a card where the primary is < 60 days late have that much of an impact on my score? =/

Unfortunately yes. But fear not, maybe it will get deleted. But if it doesn't ... you'll just have to be a little more persistant.

ah well, I guess I will see how it goes. I also updated my employment for Transunion, have to do it for Equifax and Experian as well. Other than BofA I have actually never been declined based on my BK. They decline me because my income is too low!

Yes! That is good news! As long as that account wasn't contributing to giving you a boost in the average age of accounts metric, it should positively impact your score.

Success!! My Transunion had gone from bad to worse since I BK'd. It was consistently going down, when I started this thread it hit 546. Just received an alert from My Fico this morning, it has gone up to 605! Still low, but a whole lot better than what I was at before. I'm happy.
