DISCHARGED! YAY!!!!! Now what?

Finally received letter of discharge! What a relief and weight off my shoulders! Now what to do? Got ?'s on my mind...

When will case close? Does it matter?
Should I apply for a cc for rebuilding credit? When should I start?
When should I pull my credit report and what should I look for?
Will bankruptcy affect this yr's tax return? Do I have to claim forgiven debt? Can they take my refund (if I get any)?
How can I not feel so embarrassed about all this?! Sigh...

Sometimes it takes awhile for the bk to close. Mine took two months to close after discharge.

I would suggest waiting for awhile before applying for credit cards.

Wait at least a month or two after discharge to pull your credit reports so that they have time to have everything reported correctly.
