    Credit score of 610

Just got my free credit report and paid $7.95 for my score from Equifax. My credt report looks clean. Everything is IIB that is supposed to be IIB. I have an Amazon card that is still open, surprisingly. I haven't used it in years. I'm surprised they didn't close it. Maybe I'll use it to help re-build my credit. The limit is only $500. 610 ain't too bad for someone discharged on 11/23/10, correct? I do have a "satisfied judgment." Those come off after 7 years I understand. True?

I think you have a fako score, your real score might be higher or lower, did you get it from myfico.com?

Nope, not from myfico.com. I got it directly from Equifax. Right now, I could care less about the score. I'm just happy to be debt-free. Will take my own sweet time to re-build.

The score you get from Equifax directly "should" be your FICO score. But it depends which version of the equifax services you use.

Quickest way to begin to rebuild is to use that card -- keep the balance to limit under 30% and pay the payments every month. You need to build positive pay history and over several months your scores will begin to creep up.

Yes - 610 is pretty good for someone who just got discharged. The Equifax score is an actual Beacon score, so you are good there. Remember, there can be a wide variances between the big 3 scores so to really know where your mid score is you need all 3 and Vantage doesn't count, that would be the "fako" score, lol. Finally, listen to df, the information is correct. Oh, and in answer to your judgment, yes, it should fall off after 7 years. If it is reporting as satisfied and the date of last activity was over 2 years ago it probably doesn't have much of an impact anyway since it's paid.

                great news about the 610!!!!!

did you have that judgment vacated AFTER the discharge...because it should be removed....or was it a judgment previous to the bk and pd up prior to????

i would see the the card that is showing is still active...we tried a few and found that they closed them (the companies did for lack of use)....so then they wanted us to reapply and of course would deny us.

                so happy for you!!!!!!!

Hey tobee! Good to "see" you! LOL. No, I didn't have it vacated. It was satisfied through the bankruptcy. Does this mean that I don't have to worry filing a motion to vacate? Speaking of the card. I tried to use it yesterday, but it said that the order didn't go through. One of the reasons given was that the date expired. I'll check and see if they can send a new one. It would be great, cuz that's the only card I'd keep.

yes, just run it by the atty...you need to get that judgment vacated...your atty just files a simply order, might cost a few bucks but so well worth it...you need a copy of that order in your little hands.

i hear you about the charge card...we tried it like i said with a few but they didn't work.......

in a couple of weeks try capitol one or orchard bank...you'll be fine..

I did the same thing when i got my free report last week. Paid the 7.95 for the Equifax score. I did this out of complete curiousity. . when i pulled my report last april my score was 649 and that was when i had no late payments and no over limits a few at limit though. Was expecting my score to be down in the 300's...Do they go that low? LOL
To my surprise my score was 650.
AHH going bankrupt gave me 1 extra point. hahahahahaha

Do you think it's because they figure we now have more disposable income? Go figure. 650 ain't bad. You go girl!

I was shocked...want to get it back up so i can get my son off as co-signer for my bond.

DH put me as an AU on his Costco Am EX. ...Card came yesterday. Gave it to me and said..NOW this shows alot of trust in you ...Don't Mess it up cuz i know where you live!!!! hahahaha
My checking acct basically has only a few $'s in it (no jobs) so if i had an emergency i would be in trouble cuz i wouldn't be able to use my debit card. He didn't want me to be in that situation.
                              See...I'm justifying. LOL
