I just checked my credit report and have a couple of hard inquiries that were run without my knowledge. The inquiries were pulled by my existing creditors and a collection agency (working for a creditor of mine). I thought that these would only be considered a soft inquiry. Can I challenge these inquiries? Or did they have the right to run my credit because I owed them money? This inquiries were done right before and during my bankruptcy. I am now discharged.

Inqueries are the hardest thing ever to have removed off your report. I have an inquery that a collection agency made on my report for a bill that should never have been sent to them....the creditor did it by mistake. I got the file removed from the collection agency but I'm still fighting to have the inquery removed off my credit report and that was in June. I fought with Trans Union for a long time but they would do absolutely nothing and just say you have to contact the company that did the inquery. Even then, its difficult. This company assured me they would have it removed but its always there.... I'm getting to the point where I don't care anymore.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

When you applied for the credit you gave the creditor permission to pull your credit reports whenever they want - pull out the credit agreements/brochures you obtained when you signed for the credit card and you will be surprised at some of the items you allowed them to do._________________________________________

If you're referring to what is known as "bumpage" then no, I would not say that it is "easy". And that does not work for experian.Last edited by Amy26; 11-23-2010, 02:03 PM.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.

I see you edited your post, but I got the original post you made in my email. Yes, you are right it depends on the person. I have heard of people that do it and just end up with a messed up credit report (choppage). Also, it depends on how much money you're willing to spend to go in and pull them daily etc...
And I corrected my post as it wasn't trans union you can't do it with but experian. I personally would love to do it but don't have the time or the funding to do it. And I dunno... just makes me nervous messing with my report! I wouldn't be afraid to talk about it here though... its not illegal or anything.
And when I say that they are the "hardest thing ever to remove from your report"... I am speaking of having the company that put it there remove it and/or the credit bureau.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.
