Banking after bankruptcy

I bk'd a credit union and was on checksystems, an suggestions on banks I could try? I need a real savings account and checking for my pay check and bills.

I went with a regular bank. I did BK on an overdraft account with one bank.I have had no problems with the bank after my BK was processed.

I was discharged in Oct, and I want to join another CU, but they pull a CR. I still trying to decide if I want to try and open an account. I checked with a local bank and they only use chexsystems. I may try the local bank, but I really want to bank with a CU again.

I was just approved with Chase. I don't know if I'll stay with them but for now it's a start.

Did Chase run a credit check or chexs? Did they know about your BK, or did it just not come up? I'm going to apply for a new account soon. I have been with Woodforest for about 3-4months, they are ok, I just hate going to a Walmart for my banking needs. I BK my CU, I was with them for over 10yrs.

I opened the account online and they asked for my ssn, dln etc then just opened the account. I know they run chexsystems because my friend was denied due to it. I prefer a credit union but I bk'd mine and I'm trying to keep my credit inquiries low.

I also went to Chase, I went to them 4 months back and they denied me because of chexsystems. But I sent my ch 7 filing paperwork back in august and monday I called them and they said that my report was clear of entries so I reapplied at Chase and was approved for a checking/savings. I don't know how long it will stay open, got my fingers crossed.

I wouldn't recommend opening it online because the initial deposit takes 5 business days to post and you can't get your account number until then. I'd say open it in an actual bank.

we used the "smallest" community bank in our area....they are HUNGRY for business and really don't care about your credit, but care MORE about getting your business from the BIG banks...we have all of them around the general area as well...boa, chase, citi, suntrust, etc...but we went with this tiny bank that actually calls us by our first names when we enter the bank.

we did tho, also open up an account at a local credit union...just because our research indicated they MAY be more bk friendly if and when in the future we need at car loan ect...so we also have an account there as well.

I just opened a checking/sav acct at a local CU. I emailed 5 CU's and only 1 didn't use a CR, but they all used chexsystems. I was just discharged, so I applied at the one that didn't pull a CR. Happy to be back with a CU.
