    Question on Timing

Hi all! First, thanks to everyone for posting about their experience on here -- it sure does make it easier for someone just starting to go through the process!!

My question -- I'm (fingers crossed) scheduled to be discharged on 9/27 -- but I have a payment plan to buy my car back (too much equity) and won't be closed until that is complete (~ 6 mos.) -- Can I apply for a credit card after discharge, but before closing? OR, should I wait until the case actually closes?

And, to give a little background -- I was bound and determined to NEVER have another credit card again -- ever. But, just this weekend, somebody got my debit card number and went to town to the tune of $500 and still counting . . . . So, it made me realize that a credit card not attached to my checking account -- with a LOW limit would be very helpful.

    Thanks for your time!

Dax, you can apply after discharge. I know some folks have actually even applied prior to discharge, but I'd at least wait until discharge.
    Stopped paying: 08/10, Filed CH7: 08/27/10 , 341 & No Asset Report: 10/6/10, Last day to object: 12/06/10, Discharged: 12/07/10, Closed: 12/08/10
AHEM.....NOT AN ATTORNEY, NOT ADVICE, ETC, ETC
