Do Gasoline Cards have lower requirements for approval?

    A few questions:

    1. Do Gasoline Cards have lower requirements for approval?

    2. What FICO score would I need for a gasoline card to be approved?

    3. Are secured cards available for gasoline that are not MasterCard or Visa?

    1. Depends, most I've seen are not bankruptcy friendly.
    2. Again, depends. Some with scores in the 500s have been successful in getting credit.
    3. A secured card can generally be used for any purchase, including gasoline. Why you would want a secured card that could only be used at a certain station?

Answer: Gasoline cards do not affect the fico score as much as a visa/mastercard.

What does that mean? Affect it how? Positively or negatively?

Most gasoline credit cards are really mastercards or visas and they are through the bigger banks most of which are not BK friendly. Requirements would be the same as for any other Visa or Mastercard with any of the major banks; i.e., good credit, good income, etc., etc. Any credit card being reported on your credit reports has an affect on your credit. All you have to do is not pay on one and you will find out how much.

I have not seen a secured credit card for gasoline. Your generalized secured cards would be utilized for that purpose or you can check with any major gasoline supplier to see if they do offer them. Any station or their website would have that information.
