So mad with Credit One Visa..grrrrrr

Ok, so I went and made $200 payment on my VISA account thru my bank. So today I get an alert thru email stating that my VISA account is over the limit...WTH!!!
So I called my bank to make sure that it went thru and they stated it was sent out June 27. The money is substracted from my account. Credit One shows it being received on June 30th, then returned June 30th. Huh?? I called Credit One. They want me to fax them a copy of my statement from my bank showing that they paid it. Also, it will take 7-10 days for the investigation. On top of that they wouldn't give me a straight answer on whether or not they would credit me back the $35 returned check fee.

I swear when I was getting things back on track...now this crap.

Sorry this happened to you. How did you pay your bill? Using the billpay from your bank account or pay online from Credit One's payment feature? If through billpay from your bank account, it takes longer just like regular mail to get the payment posted to a bill. If you paid it online through Credit One's payment system, you should have a confirmation number stating your payment and the date you paid for your bill. Hope this works out getting your over the limit fee or late fee waived.

Yes it was thru my billpay. Yes the money has substracted from my banking account. Credit One did receive payment. ....posted to my account....then reversed the payment. They can't tell me why. So somebody has my money...a ghost maybe. I wrote a letter and provided documentation and faxed all of this to their Billing Dept and Transaction Department. Hopes his doesn't put another dent in my credit.

I had a similar experience with a paper check I wrote to the IRS. Bank processed it and took the money out of my account. IRS said they never got it. Bank finally admitted they took the money out but never sent it to the IRS. IRS waived the penalties and interest once the bank fessed up and since I had the paper check with all of the processing info on the back showing that the bank had "honored" the check.

In the electronic realm, I was paying my satellite bill through autopay. After about 7 months I get a call from Dish saying my bank wouldn't process the autopay. Called the bank and they said there was no problem, couple of grand in the account. Called Dish, they say it's the bank not honoring.

Anyway, I just pay Dish whenever I get around to it. Since they are apparently too inept to figure out how to do an autopay for more than a few months they can wait to get their money.

I guess the point is that you can't really depend on electronic delivery so you must check before it's too late. In this case I think the OP should be successful in getting the payment applied and the penalties reversed.
