Since our Chapter 7 Discharge in Nov 2008, Wells Fargo Home Mortgage has not reported any of the monthly mortgage payments to any Credit Bureaus. Prior to Discharge, we had, through our attorney sent letters of reaffirmation for both our mortgage and a home equity loan we had with them. (We are in TEXAS) While they readily accepted the reaffirmation for the home equity loan, they simply ignored the request on the mortgage. (and we had been paying on this mortgage for 10 years with never a late payment) Nearly 2 years later, and they have been reporting our payments on the reaffirmed home equity loan BUT Not the mortgage. In fact, the mortgage statement we receive monthly since the discharge to pay on says: "For Information Purposes Only".... We Just talked with our attorney and he says that is usual for Wells Fargo. That it is not against the law to ignore our request for reaffirmation or to not report our payments. We'd like to have the payments noted in our Credit report to help raise the FICO score & maintain the history. What would you do? Is it worth asking Wells Fargo to report the payments or should we simply send a letter to CSC Credit Services (which we initially contacted through the Credit Bureau when we last reviewed this issue)....Any ideas appreciated!
