Inquiries on credit report
Collapse

The reason for the multiple auto inquiries is the dealership was trying to get you financing and the first few companies did not approve you or provided bad financing rates so they tried with several others. Any creditor reviewing your report and seeing several auto inquiries within say 48 hours realizes one is trying to purchase a vehicle and usually counts all those inquiries as one inquiry. Same with mortgage inquiries.
Removing hard credit inquiries is extremely difficult, even what you think are duplicates. You can dispute them but there is no guarantee they will come off. Over time they disappear but they stay on for two years._________________________________________

Do you think there is a possibility to get them removed if I send in the paper showing I specifically requested they only pull our credit through the one finance company? This company is the one that did approve us, and therefore they should never have ran it through anyone else.
The credit application states, "customer will only approve credit report to be pulled one time and requests (finance company) to finance their vehicle. If (finance company) denies loan, no sale" and is signed by the sales manager.Discharged Ch 7 9/10/08
