If my credit rating plummets due to foreclosure, bk, etc. and I have no credit cards, will I no longer be able to have a debit card as well?

You should be able to get a debit card as long as you dont have any bad checks out there in the "Chex System". I just got a debit card 2 months ago. I filed chpt 7 & was discharged last Oct. and had no problem getting it. -
You should be OK.
My debit card with my current checking account was never in jeopardy. I also opened a checking account with a credit union after filing and before discharge and was given a debit card.Comment
