    Drowning in pre approved applications

Now that we are closed (and before) we are receiving triple the amount of junk mail. Every company in the world is sending them and in multiples. Is there somewhere like a "do not call list" for credit cards? I have to open 5-10 envelopes a day of just applications for hubby and myself, I'm surprised we haven't recieved one for our dog....lol. Just seems like a lot of wasted paper.....

You can opt out from pre approved credit card solicitations. Google opt out prescreen.

Be warned it takes a long time to work through the system. It will stop your information from being sold from that point on, but many companies by marketing lists quite some time before the mailings actually get in the post.

So probably a few months before it really seems to take effect.

You can also contact the credit bureaus and request that they take you off of the promotional list.
