Need to purchase airline tickets fast: prepaid debit card any good?

I need advice. I filed a few months ago, the BK case is going smoothly. Obviously I am no longer using credit cards. I do not have a checking account or bank debit card. I need to purchase a round-trip airline ticket next week, and I'm trying to figure out how to get a card to do it.

The "VanillaVisa" prepaid cards sold in many stores are a total joke. There is no way to put a name or address on the card, therefore most online vendors won't accept them. Many vendors won't accept them at all. Period.

    Any advice?

You'll need to talk to the airline directly. You can't use someone else's card to purchase your flight if they are not flying.

The only other option you have (as long as you've made sure you can't use a prepaid for a ticket, which I would check through the airline company) is to book through a local travel agent and pay cash. You will pay more for the flight that way.

You might consider getting a Walmart debit card. You will get a temporary card at first, but they mail you one with your name on it within a week or so. I have found no one that would not accept it.

If you go to an actual Travel Agent, then can take third party credit cards, if that third party is there when they run the ticket. Of course using the services of a Travel Agent is going to cost about $20-30 since the airlines don't give Travel Agents commission like they use to, and the Agents are charged for ticketing!

And don't forget that by paying cash, you will be a terrorist suspect. And if you have a Middle East name, then you should arrive at the airport about 6 hours before takeoff, and prepared to get grilled.
