I'm not even past my Chapter 7 discharge date, and I've already received an application from First Premier. However, the terms seem quite harsh - for only a $525 limit, the annual fee is $175! I've always been used to having credit cards with no annual fee, and figured that I would have to start paying them, but this seems like a rip-off.

Yes, do not go with First Premier... total waste of money. You don't need to wait a year to apply for credit but definately make sure you get your reports as cleaned up as possible before you start making attempts. Depending on the state of your credit before you filed and what it comes out to be afterward, you can possibly start applying a few months after your discharge. I got my first card (with no annual fee and a decent limit) about 2 months after discharge.BK Ch 7 Discharged 09/2009 | Anything I say can and should be used as friendly advice and sharing of experiences with an unbiased viewpoint.
