    Credit scores

    Hi All!

We were discharged Ch7 back 10/08. I took a look at my scores (TU and EQ) and I was surprised at how low they were especially TU. TU is at 549, EQ is at 604 (Haven't checked Experian). I noticed that all of the accounts that were IIB are listed as "unrated" on the TU report. Are these scores normal? We have been great with credit since the discharge; small credit lines and everything paid on time. Our mortgages and cars have even continued to report on-time payments even though we didn't reaffirm.

Also too, I obtained these scores via Myfico.com. According to the Transunion report, it shows on the summary page that we missed a payment on an account as recently as 2 months ago, which is completely false. I cannot even find which account it is referring to

    Thanks!

    Check report dates on IIBs

The accounts that are showing IIB have a status or reporting or verified date. They are also considered derogatories. I'm fighting with some creditors that reported IIB with dates after the discharge, those show up as recent delinquencies - even as something like "you had a delinquent balance of 0 inb the last month".

Thanks Charlie. My problem though is that these accounton the TU report reports a status of "unrated" (not IIB as they should be), which I believe is killing my score

So in doing some more research, I am finding conflicting information on whether or not an account listed as "unrated" with a blank balance is hurting my TU score. Some sites say yes, others say unrated means it is not figured as part of my score. Does anyone know the true answer to this?

        Thanks in advance

Unrated vs. IIB, what about date?

I don't know about the unrated piece, there may be other data fields that are interpreted as derogatory. But what's critical is the date - if it's fater your discharge date (some say after filing date), it shows as more recent and will hurt you longer. It's even worse if the OC keeps updating the report monthly, it looks like an ongoing derogatory that the scoring system turns into a delinquency.
