I did a Google on Best Buy Credit Card and found the complaints against HSBC were too numerous to dismiss. Buyer beware. Read the fine print and watch what you sign at Best Buy, some games are being played!

ONLY speaking from experience, I'm not saying to dismiss the complaints.....My husband and I have both HSBC cards (Orchard) for about a year now and have had great luck. Their customer service has always been good and we have been happy with their services.

I've had HSBC both pre and post bankruptcy, get my statements via mail and email and haven't had an issue. I pay my card using my credit union's bill pay feature and it's always applied by the next day.Case Closed > 2/08/2010

This is my first post here but have been lurking for a few months now.
Do you think this a good card for me or should I try something else? October will be 2 years since our discharge and I already have a Cap1 which is now up to 750 CL (got that card last fall around Oct-Nov 09). My credit score a couple of weeks ago was 647 (from Free Credit Report). Should i just go for this card even if i get the low 100.00 CL, will it still help build my credit? This will be only my second CC. I rent and still have my Tahoe financed through GMAC just FYI that we reaffirmed.
I did the soft hit and was pre approved for their Gold MC. Just not sure if i should pull the trigger and get it. Suggestions???
Thanks again for such an informative site. I have learned a ton about Post BK

Hey I got approved for 100 bucks at first they said they could'nt finalize my application cause I had also applied for an Orchard Card and got that unsecured. So I called and I asked was it a denial I'm just trying to rebuild my credit ....after I said that she told me hold came back asked me some security ?'s and said I was approved for 100 bucks and will get the card in 7-10 days.

Got Approved
Hi, I've been lurker on this forum. Just wanted to say thanks for the link and idea on this Best Buy card. I like shopping at Best Buy anyway and needed another tradeline.
In short, just got approved for a $500 limit. BK was filed 7/09; discharged 11/09. HSBC CC was included in the BK. Credit scores are between 612 and 670.

Well, I had seen this post when it first was created but had held off on trying it until there was more feedback.
I have a Cap1 card with 0 Annual Fee and a 19.99% rate I recieved shortly after BK. Started with a $500.00 limit and got one increase of $250.00. Asked for a increase in July, but was denied. Payments have been on time/early, but I really wasn't too stressed about the denial, figured it went with the territory.
Decided today to try the link, but was skeptical as I had included an HSBC Best Buy card in my BK.
Filled in all the fields and got an approval for $1,500.00, right away. Astounded would be a good description of my reaction when THAT popped up.
Best of luck to those that try for this.
And for those that have tried and got/used this card, do the Best Buy interest-free offers in the stores apply? (For example "No interest on purchases $249 and up if paid in full within 18 months") Taken from today's Sunday circular.CH 7 filed on 6/12/09:cry:
341 Scheduled on 8/11/09:blink:
341 Concluded @9:20 8/11/09...Now begins the waiting game.
Discharged on 10/14/09:clapping::yahoo:

I just got an HSBC card for $300, but figured I'd try this one as well. Got it instantly, $300. No annual fee, that's great! I'm using it for gas and paying it off right away, so the high APR is no big deal. (and it's not THAT high, not compared to the 59.9% I got an offer for!) Cool, two unsecured cards with small limits, time to start rebuilding my credit.
Thanks to the OP.
