Chargeoffs are bad - in fact I think they are worse than a BK because it showed you didn't care and blew off the debt. When notified of BK filing it is my feeling that creditors rushed to list chargeoffs on my CR's in retaliation. Do you agree this is often the case and is there anything I can do to get the "chargeoff" removed from my reports?

This is probably what has been killing my credit 2 years post BK. All charge offs happened after filing. -
You or your attorney should have included all three credit reporting agencies, telecheck, and chexsystems in your mailing matrix. I include them all on every single filing I do for clients. When the CRA's receive notices from the BK court, if the creditors don't change the account status to 'discharged in bankruptcy' the CRAs can.
