My chapter 13 bankruptcy was discharged December 8. I contacted a realtor and told him my situation. The Realtor showed us many homes we were interested in, we looked at over 15. I talked to his recommendation for a lender and he needed quite a bit of info. Long story short, we closed yesterday February 24. Dont lose hope , there is life after bankruptcy.

The reason you qualified is because you were pristine with paying all your Plan payments on time and not being late with any other bills during your Plan. If you were late on or missed any Plan payments, you would not have been approved for an FHA loan. That is important to add to your situation._________________________________________

You are absolutely right Flamingo. Here is a list of, what I can think off hand, of what the underwriter required from me.
Payment history from 2 utilities
2 years income taxes
Payment history from the trustee
Title to my vehicle
Letter from my landlord(lived in rental throughout my 5 year plan)
Personal letter of "What caused bankruptcy and Why it will not happen again"
Everything was paid on time, so the underwriting process took less than 4 weeks.
