Great job! I'm seeing mine go up since I've filed last November, I have a few inadequacies that I need to clean up, like not reporting IIB and zero out the balances.... but, it is great to see someone improve their credit scores after a short period of time, thanks for sharing!

        Great scores!

If I may ask, what was your score around discharge, and what was your credit building process?

& TU is 698...just got 9 months free credit monitoring from them for class action settlement. I don't know my scores right before filing. All I've done is get 2 cc's, one for 1200 and one for 5k, and pay on time. And not take on any new debt that I can't pay off the next month.

Good scores, what companies did you get your credit cards with?

all 3 credit scores to date.....

                equifax 654
                transunion 644
                experian 654

I have not added new cc debt again, nor will I take on any other debt, so my scores won't go up fast enough from here on out.

car and home insurance did not go up either and Michigan insurances do credit checks at every renewal. At least mine does.......

It is still very new to us to stick with cash, and also remembering the difference between WANT and NEED purchases. Feels great so far!!

Case not closed as yet, but not worried.
                (first 341 10/14/09, cont'd 341 10/23/09) (12/14/09 last day to object) (341 Shows HELD w/tt report of no distribution 1/9/2010)

These are great scores! Good for you!!

Do you think you have hit bottom?
Your discharged but not closed. Does that matter?
We were in the mid 700's before filing, now in the upper 500's. They say the higher you are the harder you fall. I don't know... it is all a mistery to me
Did you reaffirm anything that is helping your scores now?

Maybe this is your reward for waiting on that discharge sooooo long

Keep paying what you still owe on time, keep debt ratios down or balanced.
Did you reaffirm anything that is helping your scores now?
Yes, house, 2nd mortgage,2 new cars, and a 5 yr. old highend 5th wheel.
Was not ever late on them, and won't be either.

Case was lagging or overlooked, so it didn't get updated by trustee for quite some time. I was patient, asked lawyer, then pushed the envelope myself and called the trustee's office only to find out that the case had zero issues, and it should have posted the HELD 341 back in 10/23. So on 1/9 the trustee's report of no distribution posted along with the HELD 341, finally.
We had a great lawyer, and our district and trustee were awesome. I was very scared and felt lost a lot, but it did turn out quite well for us.
One thing, I don't care about my credit scores anyways, except for needing a decent one so my car insurance premiums stay the same. I don't need anything to charge or purchase, therefore, I don't care about the scores. We are branded anyways for about 10-11 yrs. as it will be on the credit histories for that long. It is cash all the way now, and never cc debt again.

Since your filing and discharge are fairly recent, you may not see any increase in your car and home insurance until next year. But if your state allows insurance credit profiling, you can expect an increase and it can be a shocker (quite a large percentage).

My insurance company just did their annual check, and nothing went up.
They go by credit scores. Mine rating did not change before or after discharge. I expected it to go up, by the way.

I had ask this question before at this forum on if insurance premiums increase or not, and most said that it will not go up. Others said if it does it won't go up enough to break my new budget. So I didn't know what to think at the time. But, IF a person changes insurances AFTER the discharge, I bet YES it will go up or you might have trouble finding insurance to suit your budget.
I have been with this company for over 5 yrs, without claims and such too.
We shall see.........I will let everyone know how it all pans out at the next renewal (6 months).

Since I reaafirmed on everything but the ccards, I think it will still help my scores when the insurance company does check. It is random anyways.
They don't check all the time.
So did yours go up shockingly? What insurance company and state then?
