Got a call from Cap One

We got approved for a Cap One card in August. We charge a little on it every month and pay it in full at the end of the month.

The limit is $500 and we've never gotten anywhere close to that and we don't want to either.

They called and said when the new CC legislation goes into effect next month you will no longer be able to charge over your limit. Any over the limit purchases will automatically decline. I was like well that's great.

The lady said but we're offering a special deal right now where you will still be allowed to charge over your limit..I interrupted her with a firm NO, She said but maam let me explain you won't be charged unless you go over the limit,, again NO but Maam. I told her I understand what you're saying but being allowed to charge over the limit is just a problem waiting to happen I said NO we're not interested.

Gah! I wonder how many people will take this option?

I'm sure there will plenty and Cap1 is hoping that people go for it and charge them over the limit fees and raise their interest. Unfortunately, I Bk'd on 3 Cap1 cards, so they will not be the place I go back to... they were great and I was current up to my filing (only now wished I waited another month to file and would have them paid in full). Oh well, I will only get one cc after discharge and pay in full every month... and put a good chunk money in savings. I rather have the money then give it to the Banks... and it has only taken me 53 years to realize this!

Capital One has called me a couple times a month for the last year 6 months and I never answer and they never leave a message.

I never answer the phone from someone I don't know and more often the not they don't leave a message so it's either a scam or a sales call.
