Got 2 HSBC cards in the same day

I heard CapOne would be a good rebuilding card but since I BK'd on them (10k), I don't think I'll try them anytime soon.

Being just a couple of weeks post discharge, I applied for the Best Buy Reward Zone Mastercard (issued by HSBC) and Orchard's (also issued by HSBC) on the same day. I was approved for both with $300 CLs each. The Orchard has an annual fee of $59. I cringe at annual fees, but with a BK sticker on my forehead, I have no choice. I don't know if the BB MC will have an annual fee since I forgot to ask. I guess I'll find out when I receive the stuff via snail mail.

I was a little surprised to be approved on both since I heard HSBC usually has a 1 CC limit per account holder. Maybe those cards are run through different systems, or they are becoming more lenient.

I bought a computer from Best Buy in November. Having Bk'd on them I did not think the transaction (HSBC BB card with the 18 mo./no interest gig) would fly. Well, it did, with a large line of credit that I don't need. I could not pass up the deal on the computer (i.e. saved $500) and plan to have it paid off by June latest....

Just to let you all know, yes, you can regain your credit standing even just two years out of discharge. Just use it carefully!

Upon receiving my BB MC, terms said $59 annual. When I spoke with the lady on the phone, she did not mention anything about an annual fee. I called and talked with a supervisor. He would not lower the fee. I went ahead and cancelled the card and would not have to pay the fee. Only bad thing out of this is my credit getting a hard pull. I will wait a few months for better offers.
