Updates on current CC applications and pre-discharge secured cards

After my 341 meeting I was getting offers in the mail like mad for these RIPOFF secured cards. Went to a few local CU unions found out they had no annual fees on some of them, and public savings bank was a good catch also. I called my BK lawyer and he said if I can get them go ahead. So a few weeks post341 I got 2 secured cards. One from a local CU, the other the Public savings bank. I activated them the day I got them and have been using them non-stop and paying them off.

That was middle/late September, when I acquired and started using those cards. Well 12/14/09 I think I was FINALLY discharged (341 being on 8/21/09) So once again just for kicks I applied for a ORCHARD BANK Mastercard recommended to me on creditkarma, I was approved. Annual fee of $49 and a processing fee of $19 for an unsecured card, not bad too me considering I don't have to leave $500 with them... or $300+$79 I think.

Then today I was just poking around CAPITAL ONE, and I got to thinking... would they accept me also? So I applied and this is what I got

So for further records, I discharged BOTH of these creditors. Although I hadn't had activity with them since late 06. I was AMAZED they approved me. Perhaps I will be on the road to getting a new car sooner than I thought. Already have $5000 saved up, just hoping to land an AWESOME interest rate.

So for people out there have faith after BK there is a light @ the end of the tunnel. While I would never recommend ANYONE getting a CC pre-discharge, just saying if you do, do not worry night and day like I did until I got discharged. You might/should be ok.

I too bk'd on them. Tried for the first time since bk to get a cc and was approved by cap one.

Its a low credit line, but,

0% for the first 6 months then it goes to 16.9%

If i stay out of trouble with it, after 3 reg. billing cycles, i will get a credit line increase. I guess not bad for my first attempt.

    Good luck.....
