Since being discharged I have cleaned up my credit report, even got rid of 8 baddies. We surrerender both vehicle when we converted from the chapt 13 to 7. We do not have a single open account on either of our CR's. So all of that is good...and my score has gone up 46 points (getting pretty close to 600's) I have tried the pre-approval links for credit cards ( have not been approved for anything--hubby was approved with orchard for $300)

I am currently in school and will start externship soon and will need a car.. I dont think since I can get approved for a cc that a auto loan will be impossible as well..

I am not sure what steps I should take now...

You might want to try for a secured card. Or one of those BK friendly cc's like Credit One. The best thing you can do is to wait a while before applying for more credit. Time will heal your fresh BK, allow 6 mths since your discharge and you should be in a better spot for approval.
