Does anybody have any info BoA? I want to go back banking with them and I did BK them $4k CC and $7k personal line of credit (CC in nature).

Do you know if / when I would be able to get a CC with them again? I wonder if it is a good idea to rebuild the relationship with them in case we would like to buy a place to live in 2-3 years (if it'll be reasonable of course)?

We are a little over a year out of discharge and I can't wait to get a "normal" credit card again. I am so sick of Hooters, Target, Orchard Bank, Best Buy, and Capital One. Hooters, Orchard Bank and Capital One all raised our rates to a ridiculous amount a few months back.

I plan on getting a credit card through my local credit union as soon as I am 2 years out of discharge (their requirements)

Do you have to wait for something to be posted on your credit reports saying you were discharged before applying to cap one? Just wondering mine says something like BK 7 filed. Is there a new status I need to wait for before applying?

Yes, after you are discharged it will be reflected on your credit report as such. Mine took less than a week to display properly.

Sometimes you can get approvals without this, but I personally think its best to wait, my credit scores also jumped up a little bit after I was officially discharged.

BOA will not give you a credit card with a bk.

Never ever? So they blacklist you as Chase does? When I called and asked them, they said that they will do a partially secured CC 1 year after discharge... Why do they say that? Do they just lie?

Add me to the "Denied by Orchards" category. I applied a month after discharge and was even "pre-qualified" on their site so I figured I'd be OK.

I got a letter in the mail a week or so after I applied that said I had a significant delinquency in my credit history. I can't seem to find out what they're looking at since everything says IIB right now, but I suppose it's the price I'm going to have to pay for a while.
