Anyone hold CCs from Orchard Bank AND Household Bank?

I was just curious if anyone here holds CCs from both Orchard and Household Banks? They are both owned by HSBC, and I was denied by Household since I had been approved by Orchard the previous week. I didn't realize they were both owned by HSBC. So I was wondering if I just have to wait a few months and apply to Household again? Any input would be appreciated - thanks!!!

Yes you can wait and apply later. Hell I had like 4 credit cards with chase, 2 with discover... you can actually have one account already with the same issuer and then apply for another and get issued another card. Chase wouldn't lower my rate on a current card I had so I just went and applied for a different one that they offered and got approved at a lower rate. Sometimes, you can also combine cards if you get them issued from the same issuer. However I don't think that would work with household and orchard because they are two separate offerings.

HSBC/Household/Orchard need time between applications or you'll get an instant decline. If you call the phone number on your decline letter, they should let you know how many months (if I recall it's like 18).

What?! No way. I was approved for an Orchard Bank card right out of discharge, and was approved for my Household Bank card 2 months later. The HSBC card has more credit line too.

Good news!!! I'll wait until the end of January (3 month gap) and try Household again.

Me and my husband each have an Orchard Bank and a Best Buy, which are both HSBC.
