I applied on their website and they rejected me - well, I did BK them on 15K on one card after all. I got the post-rejection letter in the mail and the reason was something like I defaulted on too much of their credit. If there was any silver lining, the letter said that I took no hit on my credit report because they didn't have to make any inquiry after seeing my BK'd amount. Maybe I'll try in one more year...I did get cards from Credit one with $250 limit and Orchard with $750 limit. I do think I have some credit report cleaning up to do - will start doing that next week.Filed C7: 03/09/09

Were you really pre-qualified or did the clever layout of the site deceive you?
It will say "Offers For You" and appear to have found some, even if you have no pre-qualified offers in the system. You need to carefully read under the big text and it says "We were unable to locate and offers for which you are pre-qualified, but the following offers may interest you."
It will say "Name's Offers" and "You are pre-qualified for the offers below. We've highlighted the one we think you'll like" if you did have an offer -- though the two pages look very much the same and it's clear they intended the "no offers" page to look close enough it will snag some applicants.

It was a prequal...I had been checking several times and always got the non-prequal...yes it is deceiving...but this time for whatever reason got the prequal and got denied. I'm pretty sure that it was because I have a dispute on one of my reports with them.7-2-2009 Filed

Huh..
Well I got my card in the mail today. I think they made a typo on my credit limit. $3,000.
Considering I was expecting $300, it's certainly sufficient. They also removed the Annual Fee I was expecting to pay and lowered the APR.
When I activated it I was told I'm also enrolled in credit steps and will get an increase after 3 months if I use the card, make my payments on time, and don't go over my limit.
Not only did I include Capital One in my BK, they had taken me to court and gotten a judgement for the account prior to my filing.

I filed 06/14/2009, discharged 09/23/2009. Applied for the card around 11/4/2009 (waited until the website said I had a pre-qualified offer).
I was sued by Cap1 in 10/2008. By that point it was probably approaching almost 2 years since my last payment.
I'm really surprised at the card. Back when I had "good" credit and ridiculous credit limits from most banks I only ever had a $1,500 card from Cap1.
