Got a credit line increase already!!

Yup! CreditOne increased my credit line by $50 (to $350 total now) (LOL) ... the only way I discovered this was I was paying my monthly balance ($5.75 monthly svc fee) and I was just about to file away my statement when I noticed a little paragraph in the middle of the statement...almost too small to read:

"CONGRATULATIONS! YOUR CREDIT LINE HAS BEEN INCREASED BY $50 DUE TO YOUR GOOD PAYMENT HISTORY. THIS INCREASE IS EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY AND IS SHOWN ON THIS STATEMENT"

I cant believe Im stoked about a $50 increase, when pre bankruptcy I would get increases of $2500-$5000 Make your payments on time (I always pay it as soon as the statement comes) and apparently the increases will come!

Either way, a few months ago, I requested an increase from my Orchard Bank card and they said I'd have to wait a year.
Ive had the CreditOne card since August 2009 and the Orchard since April 2009.

      I totally agree!!

And its so self gratifying to watch my credit score go back up every month... Pre-bankruptcy it seemed it was always going down

Wow, you've had it since August and already got an increase...that's great. I've had mine since June and every month except one I've paid the balance in full (the other month I paid about 75% of the balance) and I haven't been given an increase yet!

Just got an automatic $100 increase with my Credit One CC after only 5 months of on-time payments! No love from HSBC Best Buy MC, but maybe they increase it next month at 6 months? Credit One is better than HSBC and has better customer service, too, but that's my opinion!

IRT CreditOne, Is the only fee they have a $75 membership fee?
I read the terms and conditions and don't see anything about OTHER fees (like how First Premier has about a billion of).
I need another TL and don't mind having this as a sock drawer; if the $75 is it I might go for it. Some of the other easy ones I included in the bk so they are probably not an option!

I only have the Annual Fee of $75, no monthly service charge as some people have, or account set up fee, ect. They do charge to request a credit line increase, but I received one at 5 months and didn't cost me a thing. This card is diffidently better than First Premier, and for me better than Best Buy mastercard as I have already received a CL!

I just applied for a First Premier credit card and was approved. I was apprehensive because of the interest rate and fees, but it was the only credit card that I could get to go through. It's only been 90 days since I filed Chapter 7, and about 21 days since I received my discharge letter. I plan to pay it off every month as soon as I get the statement and am looking forward to starting to rebuild my credit. I was denied approval from Orchard Bank and Capital One-even though it was pre-approved. Good luck to all of you in rebuilding your credit.

For anyone who hasn't been approved for anything thus far, please go for a secured card through a credit union or hsbc before you go for something like FP. There are secured cards that you can get where you don't have to put that much into it ($100). It's worth the time to save up so you don't have to deal with the fees, but of course if it's a last resort, I get it!
Carlsbad, have you tried for BBRWZ? I included them in our bk and got one within a month or so of discharge. Also, try Fingerhut if you haven't already. They report within a couple of weeks of getting the credit line.
