    Waiting on approval....

Of those of you who have applied online for credit cards, specifically Capitol One and Hooters, and gotten the "your application is processing, you will be notified in 10-14 days" or something to that effect... how many of you have actually gotten approved? Does that usually mean a denial? Thanks.

For Cap 1 I got an email I think the next day saying my image was approved (I had personalized my card when applying). About 2 or 3 days after that I got an email saying I was approved.

For Hooters, my DH got a call the next day asking security questions. Then he got his card a few days later.

I got that when I applied for Hooters in August...figured they denied me.

Much to my surprise about 2-3 weeks ago I got the card in the mail with a $500 limit

I put my YMCA membership ($26/mo) and my OnStar subscription on the Hooters Card. That way I can develop a positive payment history. I have no intentions on using it for anything else (eg. going to Hooters). I think Im the only gay guy in the WORLD with a Hooters card...think when they find out they will take the card back? LOLOL

That's freaking hilarious! LOL. We don't go to Hooters either....we use it to buy everyday stuff like gas, groceries, utilities, etc. and then pay it off every month. I am doing that will all of our cards so we can establish that we are responsible with our credit...plus we're building our credit history so we can buy a house in a couple years.

Its a big joke with all of my friends/family... Most of the most macho hetero male friends/family I know, have no interest in getting a Hooters card...yet I have one

I will admit, about a month ago I was out with a group of friends... we went bowling and after stopped at Hooters for some 'wings'...or at least thats what they told me...LOL...me and the waitress hit it off. She came up and said 'boy is it cold in here!' and I just about busted out laughing... I jokingly accused her of trying to get me to look at her ta-tas.... It was pretty funny. Anyways, their wings were pretty good! I recommend the hot ones, the mild wings were too wimpy for me

Well I did end up getting denied by Capitol One, I did BK on them though, so I suppose that is mostly to be expected. However, I went to the mail the other day and there was my new Hooters card with a $1100 limit AND no annual fee!!! Wow, I was really expecting to be denied, much less that high of a limit. Now I have that and an Orchard card with a $300 limit and I'm just using and paying them off to rebuild. I'm not going to apply for any more until I am able to get some with a better interest rate - then I will cancel the higher APR ones.

Bummer! But the new Hooter's card with a $1100.00 limit is cool!! If you get strange looks when you use your Hooter's card, you should just say that you work there

I just got my trans union report sorted out and noticed that the last time I applied for the hooters card was 10-5 ... I believe I got an instant denial on that one. So, I just tried it again as my trans union score is 691 now. And it was processing and then it asked me some security questions and said I would hear back in 7-10 days.... then I got an email thanking me for applying etc... I didn't get any of that the first time I applied.... so I'm crossing my fingers that I too may be a proud hooters member shortly! Is that typically how everyone else's experience was applying for this card?
