If you're looking to rebuild credit without a secured loan dh and I just got approved for the Hooters Mastercard. The limit is only $300 but that's a good start. The yearly fee is 36.00. The APR looks a little high at 21% but we don't carry balances on our cards. We pay them in full at the end of the month.

It's a Merrick Bank card but we included Merrick Bank in our BK and still got approved.

Now we have Cap One, Conn's and Hooter's plus our mortgage so I think we're good for a while. We're going to sit back and see what happens now.

While its not a card that Im proud to whip out while buying a new bible at the Christian book store (lol), I applied 6 mo's after discharge and got a $500 credit line. I just sent in my first check ($36 annual fee) and do not intend on actually using the card but want the extra available credit.

I just got a Hooter card last week with a $500 line. The last time I applied a couple months ago I was declined but now I have $500 Capital One card and This Hooters card and also a $500 Kay card. So I think I'm good on the cards for a while.

I agree LOL! My mom saw it in my wallet and freaked out. She wanted to know why I had that card. Oh well if it will help with the credit it'll be okay.

It was my first cad out of bk. $1K limit & $72 per year. Kept it for two years; it lead to better cards with lower rates & less interest.

I'm not even Hooters material... I keep getting denied for everything.... lol. Its funny cause they say they use Trans Union and my credit score is like 630 with Trans Union... I wonder why I can't get approved with a six figure salary and no debt... lol.

Woooo hoo! A light at the end of the tunnel! I applied for a Lane Bryant credit card on their website and I got approved! I had a card a long time ago that I never used and had it closed. Well, I got a letter along with the card that says we reviewed your information and discovered that you already had an account with us. We have reactivated your account and we hope to see you soon!

How do I make sure they report to all 3 bureaus? Do I have to call them?

I have a Lane Bryant card and they report to all three. I have always been good on my card and just paid it off. I wonder if I will be able to get another after we file.....

Awsome! I did check my equifax report and I did see that they reported me back when I had it before. I think they lowered my limit though... but I don't care... I'm just happy I have a credit card and a car loan... I can rest easy now and not pay attention to my credit report.

I waited 3 months. I applied for a few more at the 6 month mark.

I did it the day after I was discharged... As long as your credit report is in order and the report reflects that you are discharged, you can do it whenever you like. The farther out from your discharge date the odds are more in your favor.
