    Scary Score

I ran my credit score post filing to see and it dropped from 617 to 475! Holy cow. I still have a few things reporting incorrectly, but I was wondering how this meshes with other experiences. I really wasn't expecting it to fall quite that much but then again I don't plan on using it anytime soon.

I don't really ever want a credit card again as long as I live but my mortgage is through a local bank who does not report. Therefore, my car loan is the only active tradeline I will have and right now it's not reporting anything since the stay is still active.

My scores were in the mid 700's before I filed and in the low 500's after I filed. Right now my EQ is is 531 and TU is at 549 (2 weeks or so before discharge). Everything on TU is reporting correctly. EQ is still showing one CO.

My wife had similar scores, but her EQ score jumped 45 points after her last remaining CO got changed to IIB. She is at 596 (dont know her TU score).

Half of credit repair is new positive tradelines. Don't go for the first premier route or you will be porked by their fees. I suggest opening up a secured credit card at a credit union...doesn't have to be big, a couple hundred dollars to start is good.

That is actually a large drop for BK. even with BK, most scores don't drop below 500. I think once you get everything reported properly, you will at least be over 500.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. Once your discharged and get everything corrected you should be fine.
4/09 Converted to a Ch 7 due to loss in dh's income
5/09 UST now involved no idea what happens next
7/09 UST has decided to withdraw his motion to dismiss!
        7/27/09 DISCHARGED!!!

Yeah I was kind of surprised......but of course not all of them have updated so it said I am at 106% of available credit! I know that's not good.

But looking at it from a different viewpoint, 617 wasn't so hot to start with. Of course, it's better than mine.

I am a few days from discharge (fingers crossed still) and my eq is 623 it was just a couple away from 800 1 year ago - sigh-

does the actual discharge change it more?

equifax has most of the negative items as IIB

my car was a 722 - the original lender hasn't changed anything
will it be a charge off or ? they did lose about 15000 in the agreement

anyway its a bummer -- so long beautiful interest rate's
              not a tragedy though

In July, 2008 my score was in the 780s. I pulled my credit report and score just prior to moving out and filing for divorce and, at that time, I was current on everything. I stopped paying my unsecured debt that same month. I filed for CH7 in February, 2009 and received my discharge in July, 2009. I monitored by score through CreditKarma while the BK was pending (which isn't very accurate, I know) and it dropped to the low 600s.

I pulled my credit reports and scores today from all three bureaus to check for inaccuracies and my scores across the board are 641. CreditKarma has me at 682 but that really means nothing to me at this point.

I have one Chase account that reports inaccurately on two of my reports as being a charge off and I have filed the disputes. It will be interesting to see if my scores increase once that account is reported accurately.
                CH7 Filed 2/26/2009 (no asset)
                341 Meeting 4/7/2009
                Discharged 7/10/2009

No, it wasn't that good to begin with I agree. But really a 130 point drop for the BK seemed like a lot. Everything else was already there.

It went from 720's to 617 due to the utilization problem so I am hoping it comes back up some once everything is marked IIB and the 30 day late that was after the filing is removed.

Mine went from 716 to 588 currently. It's been 9 months since disharge. Like yours, approx 128 point drop.

After I stopping everyone (after advice from my attorney), my score dropped to 472, before I even filed for bankruptcy.

I ran my credit report a week ago and my score was 552.

I'll have to run it again a month after discharge to see what it says.

Mine has improved from 475 to 562 just with all the accounts hitting $0.....hopefully I get another bump after discharge next month.

I checked dh's Equifax score the other day... was only 492 But he has several accounts not reporting correctly, so hopefully once those start reporting correctly he'll see a jump. We had stopped paying all CC's almost a yr before filing, so we knew our scores had to already be very low... wasn't too shocked to see a 492 score really

                            Discharged & Closed 11/2009
                            Now the rebuilding begins....

My scores tanked really bad post BK mostly because I stopped paying unsecureds months before I filed so my mid 700 score gradually dropped monthly due to non-payment but I've been steadily rebuilding every month by paying everything on time.

I plan to check my scores again very soon and hopefully they have increased even more.
