    credit card application using transunion

I filed years ago. I had a few lingering collection accounts showing 0.00 balance but included in my CH 7.

I recently disputed them and they came off of TU. I'm still waiting for them to come off the others by disputing them. My scores are 659 661 and 726 with TU. Tu shows my history from several years ago with no new activity.

I can get my score higher by opening a new credit line from what it says. Can anyone tell me what credit card company uses strictly Transunion when running credit for an application?

There's a database on the CreditBoards website that lists which credit agencies each credit card pulls. It's created by the members there, so I don't know how reliable it is. Also you'll have to join CreditBoards to see it.

If you want to give that a try, do a search for CreditBoards (no space). When you get to their page, look for the tiny Register link under the first red bar.

I've lurked on their bankruptcy forum before - it's full of misleading and inaccurate information (especially about Ch 13), so take whatever you might see there regarding bankruptcy with a grain of salt. Their main purpose, credit repair, is more reliable.
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I appreciate the info. I checked into the database you mentioned. I think they are full of crap. Here is what is weird. I called Discover and asked who they used and she told me Experian. I then went to the database and it seems the common there is equifax.

In the end they ran transunion. All my accounts in good standing are from the late 90's early 2000's so they denied me with a 726 score because of lack of credit history. I plan on calling them in the morning.

For those looking for a way to find out who pulls what here is a better way. Go to your credit report or that of your spouses or anyone who is willing to let you. Look and see onthe report who has pulled it or ran it for promotional programs. You will see Discover on 1 maybe that isnt on others. This way you know who runs which report. Write the creditors down from each report and check what report they ran and if it was more than 1. Applying for Discover online at thier site and it ran through Transunion only.

We obtained our credit reports in late May after waiting for for the 7 year period to pass for our Chapter 13 filing (April 2009). All accounts associated with the BK were gone which for many people eliminates all their past, maybe long-term, accounts. You basically have to start over and can be denied credit for not having enough accounts to establish a credit history. That's just the way it is - it happened to us but only once as we have obtained a Home DePot and WalMart Discover since that time.

Just keep making payments to everything on time and keep that credit history pristine and it will all eventually fall into place. No late payments or non-payments and watch the amount of hard credit inquiries cause they stay on for 2 years and can work against you.

I applied for Home Depot because I went off the creditpull info on the site above that said said it was a Transunion Pull. It turns out Home Depot is actually an Equifax pull which still has 2 bad accounts I need to have removed. 1 is under public records that shows where i filed bk in 2005. The other is a medical collection account that truly is not mine.

The weird thing is I had plenty accounts in good standing on all 3 reports that I had closed as either revoloving or installment that were paid never late to at least show I had a history and not just 1 or 2 accounts. Most of them are now gone even though the showed paid never late and closed. So now I'm back next to nothing once these bad accounts are removed.

It also depends on what state you are in. Some creditors pull a certain credit report based on location. I'm pretty sure that Hooters is a TU pull and fairly easy to get.

              Bingo!

The savvy creditors pull by what State you live in. The various CRA databases are stronger in certain States. Therefore, a pull from Discover for someone who lives in New England might be done from Equifax, while things in the SouthEast go to TransUnion.

I think I'm going to hold off running applications for now. This is what I got from my Hooters application. Usually this is a turn down based on my experience.

My hubby got this message and got a call the next day to verify information. He got the card in the mail about 5 days after that. Good luck and keep us posted.

Well that would be really cool if so Jenn. I want to get something going to resetablish a recent account.

By the way I applied online for a Hooters card and the pull was from Transunion only for future readers. So maybe it may work out, I guess we will see.
