    Credit Score Equifax

I am not discharged yet but I have been working on my credit report like crazy. On 8/22/09 my score went from 425 to 544. On 08/31/09 it went from 544 to 492. I called to find out what was the deal and the lady said it goes up and down when you are disputing things. I hope this is true. I hope it does not stay at 492. What do you think about it??

There is absolutely no reason to dispute items on your credit report until after discharge. The best thing to do is wait until several weeks after your discharge is in place and THEN dispute the items. I would stop your disputing now, get your discharge and a few months thereafter get your reports again. You will have a BK on your records for 10 years...your credit score is not going to skyrocket overnight and being pristine with any credit after discharge (no late payments, not applying for a lot of credit, few credit inquiries) is what will make your score rise...basically time is your best friend after discharge. Best of luck to you!

i just ran my CR today, 1 week after being discharged. my FICO is 645, BK shows up, but one error has a CC listed as included in BK when it wasnt and had zero bal when i filed. i will have to disput that one, but im going to wait another month, just to let everything get fully reported.
