    Best Buy credit card

    Hello all,

I'm aware the Best Buy's credit card has an annual fee but the Mastercard version also has that, too. Unless someone corrects me if I'm wrong. But can an annual fee be waived after the first year or so? Has anyone waived annual fees with any other credit cards?

    Thanks,

    -A

It depends sometimes on what's in the original agreement. Chances are you could call the customer service and ask that question. Real soon here more cc's companies that currently don't charge annual fee's are going to start because of laws and regulations going into effect within the next 6 months that is going to hurt revenue in a huge way. Only time will tell though, but definitely call customer service and ask.

      MissMagoo,

Yes, the law just went into effect on August 20th which is the first wave and the second wave is in six months from now, I believe. CC companies have to give at least 90 days notice and sent out the billing statement 21 days instead of 14 in advance, if I'm not mistaken.

However, with Best Buy, I think one of them does'nt have a yearly fee but the other does (MasterCard). That's why I was trying to figure something out on getting a new tv replacement. I'll try calling them if they could waive it down the road.

      Thanks!

Yeah that law just went in on Thursday but there are many others they haven't passed yet but are trying to make it where cc companies cannot charge pay by phones fee which will take approx 60% of revenue for some and will result in annual fee's. I know the bank I work for will if we cannot charge for pbp's...
