Hey all, got a question. Our Bk is showing up now on my CR. The attorney filed on 7/17 and our 341 is 8/28. I didn't realize it would show up before the actual discharge, but anyway. How do your scores change from the point I'm at now (BK just showing up on report) to the point when the actual discharge reports? Do they get worse, better?

Hi Lizard. Check out my signature and they will tell the tale. My BK showed up within a week of filing (seemed almost instant). I stopped paying cc's and unsecured's months before I filed and my credit scores dropped drastically from the mid 700's to 468 after filing, but on the bright side they rebounded quicker than I originally thought but it takes persistance to haggle with the credit bureau's to clean up your report after the discharge.
IMO, if your score doesn't drop too much before you file, you should be in decent shape a year later. Within 2 years you should be back to your original scores if you rebuild slowly and stay away from the credit trap.Filed Chapter 7 (Primarily Business Expenses) 04/10/2008 FICO 468
