Derogatory basically means bad. And that's just what BK'd accounts are. Any account that is not in good standing will be listed under the deragotory section of a credit report. You cannot get that changed unless it is in error; say you have a past account that was in good standing and somehow got changed to being included in your BK when it wasn't.

How messed up can all of your credit reports be that requires numerous letters to clean it up and how high did you possibly raise your score?
I follow my scores monthly and havent really found any problems that would raise my score.
all of my discharged accounts say derogatory. What does this mean? Is this something I should do to change it or can I?
thanks for all your replies
I have tried to get the term "derogatory" off of my fiancees report with no luck. One credit company list those same accounts as closed so I don't see why the others list them as that?
All tradelines you have at the time you file BK should report as follows.
Balance owed $0.
Notes: Included in Bankruptcy.
Keep in mind, that derogatory language is actually only there for your benefit, kind of like a consumer disclosure. The Credit Reports that get pulled by lenders usually don't contain that summary.

So, as long as the account is listed as closed and balance is $0 don't worry about this? If this is true that is great because I have tried to remove them with no luck.
