HI..My bankruptcy was dishcharged and closed April 2009...

I am looking to try to start rebuilding my credit. I am a SAHM..my husband has a F/T job ( he was not in my bankruptcy) and he is going to be my co signer..
I would like to start now so when we buy another house ( after we sell ours) in a few years, my name can be on it...
Which is card usually approves people th emost?

    ALSO..
I am having trouble getting credit reports I tel ya. One says they cannot find any info...So I sent in the stuff they needed and still have not heard..

Another one there is a debt on there that says nothing about bankruptcy ..

Plus not all my debts are on my credit report now..why is this?

    Thanks

The CRA's make lots of errors in credit reporting - especially after filing BK.

You will need to initiate disputes with the CRA's first. If the TL comes back verified, you then can dispute with the data furnisher directly. The data furnishers take it very seriously because it is considered 'collection activity' to report incorrectly to the CRA's - which is a violation of the discharge injunction. So you have the power of the BK court behind you if they do not cooperate.

Having said all that preamble....it takes a while to get all the corrections made.
You should start to receive cc offers right away. Wait a little while they get better if you do not respond to the first ones!

The best way to start is to get a card from a CU. You may need to have a secured card at first. This gets you out of the subprime cards. Also, you may want to just get the cards in your name, without being joint with your husband. Best to keep the cards separate from a planning point of view.
    Filed CH 7 9/30/2008
    Discharged Jan 5, 2009! Closed Jan 18, 2009

I am not an attorney. None of my advice is legal advice in any way..
