How easy it was for me to forget how CapI had held my mailed in payment just so they could charge me a late fee and then use that as an excuse to raise my interest rate.

Then why would you want to use them again? I am sincerly curious, not being rude. Don't you think they might do this again?

Sounds like the old Aspire Bank offers that came around while we were in Chapter 13. They offered a $300 credit line but all the initial fees at opening were $275 giving you $25 in credit. And then each month there was a service fee thereafter even if you did not use the card so your chances of going over your $25 limit was very high and then you would be hit with fees for going over your limit. And then an annual fee of $80+. Unreal. I can't believe people would fall for such garbage but some folks are desperate and just don't read all the fine print until it is too late.

Finally closed out of a CH13 in March, applied for Cap One in April and was approved for $300.00 credit card. Also applied for Sears Card through Citibank and poof was also approved. I use each one sparingly, buying small items and paying balance in full each month.

I was skeptical about getting another credit card right after BK, but we will never be able to re-fi our house with a low credit rating.

I think they may try to do it again but, I learned my lesson & pay everything online now. Paying CapI online at their website is free and practically automatic. I'm a smarter consumer nowadays.
