    Where to start

I finally got my discharge March 5th and closed March 20...
I got a paper in the mail for the discharge.
Am I suppose to get something from the lawyer or something?

    ALSO..
*How do I start to rebuild my credit?

I had cc, medical and phone ..etc..
It was from 1995-2002 that I encounterd all of my debt and have had horrid credit ever since.
I was young and very stupid..

*I am a stay at home mom and my husband wants me to apply for a cc with him as a co signer, he has great credit.

*Where can I look to find out if any of the debts are removed on a credit report?
    Thank you so much.
This site is the best that I have found.!!

Your debts do not get removed. The reporting on the debts are supposed to read zero balance and iib (included in bankruptcy). You will need to pull all of your reports and check for accuracy especially before you apply for any credit.

Give the creditors a couple of months to clean up the reports on their own, then pull your reports and make whatever corrections are necessary.

Hey Crazycrew, Im from Michigan too

Congrats on your discharge. My 60 day mark is 3-29-09 (this Sunday). Im going to get a secure credit card in a month or so just so I can start rebuilding my credit. I have already pulled my credit reports and fixed 2 errors. There were still open active collection accounts that were discharged in my bk. I called the collectors and gave them my case number and they agreed to remove it from my credit report.

If you put down a creditor and it got discharged, what do you do if it is on your report??

I am pretty sure a lot will still be on mine. I had over 20. It is because it could be Sears, they had it go through 2 different collection companies an dI listed all, BUT what if the collection company I put down sent it to a different collection company that I did not know about?

All of the creditors on your filing will still be there on the report, but the account will be designated as IIB (included in bankruptcy). It's the accuonts still showing with money owed that you need to correct.

If the second company contacts you, find out which debt they bought and provide your case number proving the debt was wiped out when you filed. Then hang up.

What about judgments? I know they stay on your credit report for 7 years, but should they be read as "included in bankruptcy" too? Mine has a judgement, this was included in bankruptcy.

Take your discharge to the county courthouse and ask the judge to issue a satisfaction of judgment due to BK. You do not have to have a court time there is always a judge who has "office hours" to deal with these items. Take your list of creditors and the discharge it wil cost you $5. to record the satisfaction also.
                  Good Luck

Thank you so much. I am trying to clean up my credit report, but was wondering how to fix the judgment. PACER says that the court was notified of the discharge, because I had them listed on my creditor list. Do you think when they receive notice they will record the satisfaction, or should I go to the courthouse anyway?

You have to record the satisfaction or vacate the judgement - no one else will

Ok, so even though the courthouse got my discharge notice, I would still have to go? Thanks

I had a judgment too. When I filed BK7, my attorney included the judgement in the BK7 proceeding. The judgement is on my credit report but it says "Satified". I did not have to do anything "extra" for it show satisfied.
