    Wamu to Chase customers

So, are any of you in the same boat as me? BK'd on Chase, got a WAMU card, and now are wondering if Chase will cancel your cc??

I haven't heard anything further about this topic since it was announced. Anyone in my situation lose their card yet?

Our account has already been switched over to Chase. We had no issues but it seems like everyone who got switched over had a small percentage increase in their annual rate. Ours went up .5% from our Wamu percentage rate. We included Chase in our BK filing also but we had no issues or problems with the changeover. If you were pristine with your WAMU account, you should be fine.

This issue has been going on for a while now.

Here is what I found out so far.

If they consider your credit as subprime; in other words, your credit profile doesn't meet their credit standard, they will not renew your account.
They are not going to cancel your card right away rather when your card expires, that's the end of it.

In this harsh economic environment, it's hard to predict how business might behave but
I wouldn't be surprised if they don't renew your account.

We didn't BK Chase but Chase isn't BK friendly at all so I'm not counting on them keeping us past our expiration dates (2011).

If you act responsibility with the changed over card, no late payments, pay in full each month or keep a very low running balance, that all works in one's favor. If you keep a running balance, keep it below 1/3 of the credit limit and always pay more than the minimum payment if not paying in full.

Of course a creditor can cancel an account at any time for any reason so there really is no guarantee for anyone.

I'm a little curious myself since I BK'd Chase. It is my largest Credit Line (7K) so it would be nice if they keep it open but there would be no love lost if it's closed.

I just logged in to Chase now that WAMU has switched over and they had my old address, telephone and email listed as current. WAMU never had these addresses.

                  Logan,
I noticed the same thing when I signed in yesterday. I'm not sure where they got their info but if they send the bills to the address they have, I won't get them. Plus it's a PO Box and you can't change that online for some reason. So now I get the *joy* of calling them to update it. <sigh> I miss Wamu already.

I noticed that with mine as well. I was able to update my email address, but when I tried to figure out how to update my work phone, I gave up. They have my home phone anyhow.....let them call my old job (haven't been there in over 8 years) if they want to

Anyone who had a former WAMU account that is now switched over to Chase - go into your account and ensure all is OK because I just went in and they had wrong information in several sections. Our email address was 1/2 my work email and 1/2 my home email address! LOL! You will need to agree to their terms when you log in the first time, then check out your account information for errors and sign up for their alert system which is great for payments due and payments received (email and/or text message to cell, or even voice message) I see they carried over our Awards points and even added quite a bit giving us way more than we had so we now have their award program with added points (not through purchases). That was nice of them because they increased our percentage rate 0.5% as I think they did with all WAMU transfers from postings I have seen on here of others transferred over.

But go in and set up your account because there can be several errors with the transfer. Check everything.

I signed in as well - they had all info correct and even carried over the payment I had scheduled for the end of the month. Funny thing is that hubby had to different WAMU cards and they had canceled one of them for non use like 4 months ago and according to Chase that card now is open.

it may look like the card is open, however it is not. the same thing happened to me last night as they had listed an account i closed in 06. call the company and ask for tech support. they will remove it from your log in screen
