My husband and I each got a pre-approved credit card offer from Capital One, we were discharged and closed Feb. 06, 2009. So I said what the heck I will give it a try. We just would like to have a couple of credit cards for those just in case things - car breaking down for example. Also we are in need of rebuilding our credit back up. But any way we were both approved! So glad we didn't have to go through one of those high risk credit cards, their fees are highway robbery! My husband's new card is for $3,000 and my is $1,000, that is plenty, do not need or want anymore than that but just gives us a peace of mind to have that for backup. Even went to the bank today and reopened a saving account, a little thing but gosh it sure made us feel good. This year is starting off soooo much better than last year. I never want another year like that, I am not sure I wouldn't stroke out.

Capital One was good to us, too. Obviously, we did not BK on them. Never had them before.

We also wanted to rebuild our credit and applied about 3 months after discharged. My wife and I got combined credit of $13000 on two cards. No fees, etc.

    Crazy.

Now we use one for all our spending (almost every dime) and pay it off every month. It is a GREAT way to track and control your spending (for us, anyway).

We got our pre-approved form before we were discharged too. There was an
expiration date on it that had even expired but they took it anyway. Like I said before I am glad they did I hated the thought of having to pay out high fees for some of them that are out there. This should help with our road to recovery.

I got Cap one too about two months after discharge. Zero percent for 6 months, then like 15 %. I am only using to re-build my credit, not re-build the debt.

Since I have made all payments they upped my limit from 3000 to 3500 after 3 months.

I have also received a pre-approved car loan from them since I have good credit with them, does anyone know what kind of rates cap one offers for autos??

We were approved for 10.99% for 60 months on a car loan from Cap One.

We ended up using our credit union which gave us 4.99% and we bought a used 2007 car about 6 months ago for $10,000.
