how do I get a short-term loan like under $3k

    i need to get a short-term laon, under $3k.
Sometimes I think it is called a Paycheck loan.

Are there reputable loaners who can help me?, that is with bad credit?
i just filed chapter 7 last week.
And I will be able to pay the loan back in January / February.

    Any suggestions/
Much thanks for all the support and information I receive on this forum.

I would agree... this is NOT something that you want to do!

If you just filed for Chapter 7, and need to borrow money, something is very wrong. Part of making bankruptcy work to get the fresh start that you need, is being able to live within your means, and not to borrow money to live.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to find another way to come up with the $3K that you need.
Filed 8/08 - Discharged 11/08! Not tracking FICO.
      Pre-Bankruptcy Net Worth: -$72,000... Today's net worth: $142,000.
If your FICO score just went higher than your net worth, and you are happy about this, you might have a financial problem!

If you just filed, you should have no debt and no payments except maybe your car and/or house/rent. I am assuming you probably have not been paying on any debt for several months prior to your filing so you should have accumulated some cash along the way. You are jumping from from the boiling pot right into the flames. Avoid Payday loans. You cannot file Chapter 7 again for 8 years and if you start that you are headed to disaster. If you need funds for an emergency situation and you know you will be able to pay the funds back in a few months or less, check with family/friends to see if they can help you out. If you really don't need the money but are looking to purchase Christmas presents or something that is not a necessity, just avoid it totally.

YES, you are correct, something is terribly wrong.
I have been living on fumes since May.
There have been times I have been unable to put gas in the car.
Any money I accumulated I used to pay my BK attorney and the rest went to pay electric/telephone/car payments.
Mortgage had not been paid in 9 months.
I am hoping to use the next 3 paycheck to save the home by sending a total of $9k to Chase.
This leaves me with nothing else.
          Expecting a $50k payment from ex-husband on May 15 2009.
Still not sure why I filed a chapter 7, when my income is above means, it seems it is because I have no additional income for a chapter 13 monthly payment.
What do I do to figure it out???

You can try to explain your story on a microlending site like Prosper. But I too would avoid any Payday loans unless you know for a fact that you can pay it off before it's renewal date to avoid the interest charges that'll be due.

I am assuming from your posting above that you need the funds for an important or emergency situation. If you cannot get family or friends to help you out, if you have a 401(k) you can take a loan out on that if you are up against the wall but only as a last resort should someone get a payday loan. I don't know how you are handling your finances but you certainly need to try to get things in order and start to learn to budget and handle/control your money before you end up in the same place several years down the road.

I agree with you 100% about the payday loans. I was too busying trying to keep up paying them back and ignoring all of my necessities, such as utilities, car payment, groceries, etc. Being trapped in the payday loan mess was basically why I had to file BK, so I could get back on track. They are nothing but trouble. As a matter of fact, I included alot of them in my BK.

I wonder if there are any options outside of the paycheck loans.
I suppose, no one else will loan me anything.
No family or friends to help me financially, 401k is all gone.

I have had one experience with those “Cheap Loans”. I pawned a very old and dear ring, for 250. I had to pay 310 to get it back for one month. The rate of interest is over 300% apr. NOTHING can be that important. Find a Church and give them a ring or pledge or whatever. You JUST DO NOT need to start over the bad habit. Start to save an emergency fund. PLEASE stay away from those ‘Loan Sharks’. ‘Hub

P.S. I worried for a month about my treasure in pawn.
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

                      payday loans

I too had numerous payday loans, and they are very easy to get but hard to get rid of, it seems like you are paying them forever, I finally decided to stop paying them as i found out that most all of them in some way are illegal if they are not licensed to do business in your state. the last straw came when I had one of those blood suckers threaten me with jail whe I did not pay back, they said that i would be prosecuted for writing them a bad check. I knew the law, I changed my bank and since I was filing bk i just included them also, and I have since learned my lesson, It is not worth getting harassing phone calls at wofk and at home at 10, and 11 at night. whatever you are going through we all in some way shape or form have been there, it is always darkest before the dawn, and you will find a way to preservere.

Do you know if you will get a tax refund next year. If so...and I hate to recommend this... you could go to a tax prep place and get a tax refund advance loan. (I shutter as I write this), but if it truly is an emergency...
