    FICO Score disparity

FICO score monitor from Wamu Credit card account from Transunion says my score is 612 and FICO score from equifax is 665.

    What is this disparity about?

Both are claiming its FICO rather then FACO(Credit Score) so isn't score suppose to be same?

    What am I missing here?

I believe all three major reporters can show DIFFERENT fico scores. I *THINK* all three don't necessarily show the same debts. I have ben using equifax for several years, and that's the only one I monitor so I can see consistancy through the years.

I have three bureau credit monitoring that gives me reports and scores every month. The three bureaus never seem to have identical information and the scores never seems to match (see my signature below).

The differences are ocassionally accounts that report on one and not on the others. Also, credit inquiries are often done with one bureau. When this happens, your score gets dinged on one report and not on the others.
Discharged November 2008 100 days after filing no-asset Chapter 7. We intended to let a two-year-old vehicle go back to the bank and reaffirm an inexpensive ten-year-old SUV and our home mortgage. In the end we surrendered ALL of our vehicles and reaffirmed NOTHING. We'll "ride through" our mortgage after the court ruled it an undue hardship.

        Hey Keebler,

Is it a single service you use to monitor, or do you do it manually?

I've been using equifax 3 in 1, and scorewatch. It monitors all 3 CR's but only shows one FICO.

I've got a Costco Executive Membership that actually costs us less than the normal membership becuase of the 2% rebate every year. With the Executive Membership they offer Identity Guard for $7.49 a month which gives me monthly scores and reports from all three bureaus and live notification of any changes. Regular Costco members can get it for $9.49 a month. Without the membership the Identity Guard service isn't nearly as good and it's even more costly so I don't recommend it unless you get that Costco membership.

For me and my wife it's $14.98 a month and it has been fascinating to watch all the chaos as we go through Bankruptcy.

Probably the most amusing part was using the "what if" tool to see how various things would affect my credit scores. For months it has told me that declaring bankruptcy would increase my score slightly! If I hadn't been screwing around applying for an automobile loan it probably would be higher.
